ADMISSION & FEES
Admission
We accept children from two and a half years of age.
Children usually begin by attending two or three sessions
a week. However, your child may attend up to five sessions
a week if space permits.
Fees
The fee is currently £8.50 per session and billed
half-termly in advance. Prompt payment by cheque
is appreciated. Fees are still payable if your child is
absent due
to illness, holiday, etc. as our overheads remain
the same.
Funding
The Government funds children for up to five sessions
per week, from the term after their third
Birthday. Top-up fees are payable for any extra sessions
you
require,
such as lunch club. Funding does not cover
the cost of lunches. Before your child starts,
we welcome you to visit
the Pre-school to see us in operation.
Applying for a place
To apply for a place for your child at Datchworth
Pre-school, please complete an application form
and return it to
the Pre-school or our Admissions Secretary. Places
are allocated every term in accordance with our
admissions policy, which is available for viewing in
the information
folder at the Pre-school. When your child has been
allocated
a place, you will be advised by post.
Entry into school
You must apply through the Herts County Council
application system for a place at a Herts County
run school.
For schools outside this admission system you must
apply
directly to the school. Gaining a place at Datchworth
Pre-school does not influence your child's entry
into Datchworth JMI School. We liaise closely with
Datchworth
JMI School, taking their advice about what they
would like the children to achieve before school
entry.
